Preservation of the area’s natural assets is a strong concern for AMBAG along with the area’s economy and growth.

CAN is one of the most comprehensive and effective associations supporting nonprofits in the whole country.
Community of Caring of the Monterey Peninsula Tish Sammon, Coordinator 646-3719 ~ A large network (over 135 groups on the listserv) of schools, businesses, government groups, nonprofit organizations, community and neighborhood groups that come together in a number of activities, events and the exchange of information to better address the challenges of youth and their families in our community.
The Competitive Clusters Strategy for Economic Development in Monterey County Mary Claypool (LMP Class of 1989), Executive Director, Monterey Co. Business Council, 883-9443 www.montereycountybusiness.net www.c2.mcbusiness.org A long-term strategy to bring more jobs and economic development to Monterey County through a process of expanding and building on existing major industries. Agriculture, Tourism and Higher Education/Research are the three clusters currently being addressed. Recent cluster additions include Building & Design and Health & Wellness. Each cluster has a work group with projects and initiatives aimed at growing the particular industry.
