Congratulations to the Class of 2007 Small-Scale Reforestation in an Urban Forest Class Project Team.  They were nominated by the City of Monterey to the California Urban Forests Council for their “Outstanding Urban Forestry Project of the Year” award.  Their project was selected as a winner!!!

The award ceremony will be in San Diego on October 14th at the annual conference of the California Urban Forests Council and Society of Municipal Arborists.  Joyce, Jay and Leslie are hoping that schedules and funding will allow then to receive the award in person and they’re hoping that Steve Morton will be able to join them.

They wish to give a special thanks to their LMP friends who helped plant the trees (Mike Dawson), took project photos (Paul Farmer), and supported them in spirit (Mary Archer, Pat Rutowski, Charla Britt, Tana Marie Misrack, and others). Thank you, all (and thank you to the LMP group from 2008 who took this project many steps further!).
